Ipswich City Council has been recognised for its innovation in setting the gold standard for open and accountable government through the launch of the Transparency and Integrity Hub (the Hub).
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding’s first order of business after taking office was to launch the Hub, which went live on 1 July 2020.
In late 2020, Mayor Harding was recognised for her leadership in delivering the Hub with the Smart Cities Australia-New Zealand award. The Hub was recognised as an Australian first for open government and a significant step in launching Ipswich into a new era of transparency, integrity and good governance.
In 2021, the Hub was announced as a finalist for the Community Shaping category of the LGMA Queensland Awards for Excellence, which acknowledges that the Hub ‘has educated and informed community opinion leading to sustainable, positive changes in the community.’
